About Filavora

Filavora is a small, independent site with free 3D printing tools and practical guides. It is run by Ali Muhammad. The goal is simple: help makers understand what a print really costs, use their filament well, and make better buying decisions.

Why we are independent

We are not owned by a printer or filament brand. Many guides online are written by manufacturers about their own products. We compare brands on the same terms and say where a cheaper option is good enough.

How the calculators work

• Every tool shows the formula it uses, so you can check the math yourself.
• Calculations run in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us or stored.
• Results are estimates based on your inputs, not predictions from your slicer.
• The math is covered by automated tests before each update goes live.

How we write guides

• We only call something tested when we have used it ourselves. Otherwise we say where the information comes from.
• We link to our sources, such as manufacturer data sheets.
• Every page shows when it was last updated, and we revisit prices and specs regularly.
